Hi,

Few days ago I noticed that my site is ranking no. 4 in Google.com organic search for a keyword I'm using in my Adwords PPC campaigns.
The strange thing is that all of my site is in English but the keyword is in Hebrew and I don't use this keyword in my site at all, not in the title, meta keywords, content - nothing !!! (you won't find this keyword on my site).
I read a lot of articles regarding SEO but I couldn't find articles that are talking about the connection between PPC and SEO.

Maybe one of you knows if there is any connection between the two ?

Chicho

How much are you spending on PPC? If you are in the thou$ands, yes, that can help you in organic search results (although, Google denies it.) Otherwise, it has nothing to do with PPC. Smiling

I'm spending thousands every month, but still only few $ in the Israeli market.

Off topic I know...but how does somebody even spend thousands...it seems as if I have enough keywords to make me dizzy, but google never seems to want to spend my money. I wish I knew your witchcraft.

You are right ! Google adwords is getting harder and harder every day, but still you can make some money with adwords after a good keyword research.

Google have categorically stated and Matt Cutts has told me to my face that the organic and PPC results are totally separate and there is absolutely no connection between the two! Personally I believe him /Google, as I have seen sites go up and down, and in fact always advise leveraging PPC initially until a site starts ranking organically.

I have a ton of sites that I advertise using PPC... and those sites do end up getting crawled and indexed & ranked in the serps.

I don't think it is because of google PPC though... I think it's for content match off of Yahoo (overture)... Your listings appear on others websites and end up being crawled by googlebot.

We need to separate a few things here I think, as the waters are getting muddied.
1. crawling and indexing
2. ranking

1. crawling and indexing. Matt Cutts has now confirmed that google proxy cache crawls made by mediabot as well as the other bots in thegroup. So if your page is crawled by mediabot as a result of having adsense on them, then there is a chance that that version of the page will be added to the index. Matt has also stated recently (like last 2 weeks) that adding adsense to your pages does not mean you will get more pages indexed in the main google index.

Crawling links, Goolge does not crawl its own adsense, but DOES crawl overture/Yahoo! search advertising links. Google will not crawl its own SERP's either, but will crawl the serps of others.

2. Ranking - Ranking is a whole different ballgame, and using Google PPC has absolutely nothing to do with your ranking.

Thank you for your answers.
Still I think that there is a connection between the two (organic search and adwords), in my case it's a fact.
When you think about it, it makes sense, Google gives you a bonus for being a good advertiser
