Hello,

I have just created a blog, for which I plan to write article on a regular basis. I also want to do some article submission- not crazily, but in a targeted manner. Does anyone have a good list of article submission sites? If you have any suggestions, please put in your tuppence to my list. Thanks and regards. Sam.

Has anyone had good luck getting direct traffic from articles submissions or is it just for backlinks.

hello,

i don't see why there shouldn't be traffic from article submissions. i believe it depends on the quality of the content...

But, i would agree that it's very painstaking, because for most parts you hardly ever get any reader for your content. sam

Article submission is a great resource for increasing traffic coz it help
your site recognized globally..if you do have a unique and informative content, people will link back to your site...

Part of the problem is that this is essentially duplicate content. So only one copy of your article will rank in the SERPs. I've also heard tidbits from SEO experts that these sites never do well in SERPs. And if they're not doing well in SERPs then you're not getting that traffic funnling through to your link.

I think the best way to distribute content is to directly target quality sites in your niche that accept article submissions. Group blogs would be another option, or ask to be a guest blogger on another site. This way you're directly targetting a specific site that you know is good quality and gets good traffic. Then you know you're getting a good linkback and you won't have duplicate content issues.

More on that in this thread:

Never, ever post the same content on your site (or risk being dropped for duplicate content). And think about why you're not posting that content on your own where you will directly benefit from any links.

Traffic generation is nil really. As Megan says, if you think your content is good, see if you become a guest writer or contributer to a bigger site within your market.
