I love Yahoo.com. In fact, I venture to say that people can make money JUST from advertising with Yahoo, if they play their cards right.

Utilizing their classifieds, at http://classifieds.yahoo.com, I have gotten lots of ad responses.

I also occasionally frequent their message boards at http://clubs.yahoo.com

My favorite is the Yahoo email groups. These yield me AMAZING results. I usually email to the groups once a week. http://groups.yahoo.com

Of course you can't forget the very popular Yahoo search engine. http://www.yahoo.com

Anyone have any great Yahoo marketing tips?

Yahoo has it's own directory AND is supplimented by Google. Odds are if you have good Google rankings you'll have a good Yahoo ranking too.

I guess it's reassuring some method of advertising is effective today - at least for you. I'm assuming you used text ads? I wouldn't ever pay a decent amount of money for banner advertising, it just doesn't work anymore.

Yep, just text ads. I also do not do banner ads, except for Link Exachange. I get mediocre results from them, but at least it's free.

Hello genuineprofit,

Isn't that spamming? Just had to ask. If it's not please...I mean I will be most grateful if you could share with us your methods on how to go about doing this.

Here's what I do:

1.-I took several hours to look for big Yahoo Groups that are about e-marketing and e-business.

2.-I then joined all of those groups. Once you are a part of those groups, you are allowed to email those groups. In return, those groups are allowed to email you.

3.-I then copied and pasted all of the "send email to" address for each groups, and saved them to NotePad.

4.-Now, once a week, I write up an entertaining article that fits the topic of all the groups I'm in, and then BCC all the email addresses from NotePad to my emailer, and email away.

This is not spam, because I agreed to accept email from others in the group, by their being a part of the group, they agreed to receive email from me.

In a way, Yahoo Groups is very similar to a message board, except it is all done through email.

Just like there are marketing and advertising message boards, there are also Email Groups like that.

Other Email groups and opt-ins that I use are:

http://thesuperpromoter.com

http://www.smartgroups.com

Just to name a few.

I hope this helped. If you have any further questions, shoot away. Smiling

genuineprofit,

Thanks for the info.

I guess you would get a very good response as the opt-in and groups are well targeted.

Sending out our monthly Bahamas real estate newsletter is the only type of bulk emailing I do. I have to let you know that a lot of people are not receiving your email due to the fact that you are using the BCC method. You see a lot of mail servers automatically delete emails sent using BCC to try and cut down on the amount of spam.

This was a very important consideration when we were starting our newsletter. We wanted every one to receive it. Much more profitable. We use Mailloop. I don't know if you have heard about it? Mailloop is the complete Internet email, newsletter server, web form processor, bulk email, customer database, and auto responder solution. It can also be used to send personalized emails to follow up on enquiries - very powerful! You can find this software and many others that we use at Knowles Realty on my personal web site... http://www.advancedwebsitepromotion.com/software.htm

Again thanks for the info. I will start checking out the Yahoo! Groups today,

Gavin

Banners still work, but only if you do them like this.

http://www.webmaster-forums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14691&perpage=15&pagenumber=3

There are also some other essentials on using banners at
the other end of that link.

Like the only banner exchange program worth using.

Hope this helps
