Just thought of another, craigslist.com, as long as you put an ad in the right area.

Free Advertising worked a looooooooong time ago, where exchanging links were really an effective way to build up brand awareness. I did it before when my site used to be a webmaster directory site (tila.com - you can do a google search and you can still see referrences to it as being a webmaster directory) however, times change and new methods spring up every now and then. To effectively market a web site, "You're really gonna have to pay for it".    <-- goes to freebie hunters.

Free advertising does exist, just search free web directories on google on yahoo. However there are so many of these websites and thousands starting up everyday that it justs puts your website in a ditch. Usually these websites will generate traffic but ask your self when is the last time you went to an online web directory to search for something you want...according to me almost never except the rare time yellowpages.com, if you want free advertising you have to create a hype or offer something to your visitors/customers like an ebook or a website sorry to spam but check my website for an example(www.Map-Traffic.com). I offer my visitors a free download, and a new article almost everyday, also the article is just not any article its articles that will interest my visitors and encourage them to bookmark the page and keep visiting it everyday. Which is why all the countries get sold for a fairly decent price. Such as spain going for 76$ USD.
If you have any other questions dont hesitate to Pm me
Best Regards,
Freddie

I've found paying for advertising can get veeery expensive - I used to have a hbyist Flash page and made the mistake of posting it on a web directory - Google blacklisted the site andd it took months Google took me back! Online directries can put you in a bad place with search engines.

Always depending on what your website has to offer, I noticed that local newspaper/events websites work pretty good at spreading the word.
But, I do work for a non-profit agency and very rarely has something to sell, but we do have lots of events.

Well, I checked your site and it does not look like it gets much traffic and has a PR of 0. You might find hard for people to take on your free advertising offer

Free advertising and quality advertising are two very different things. You get what you pay for!
