I can't get advertisers for my site! I have over 150,000 pageviews a month and you can see my media kit here:
http://www.thecatsite.com/contact/ad.html
I have emailed more than 100 potential advertisers (cat products only) and I even offered a special 1000 banners free trial campaign. No one has written me back for that either. What more can they ask for - I'm giving away a free sample campaign, so that they can try it out before spending money, and no one seems to be interested. I have also offered discounts on banner campaigns for people who advertise with a product review...
What am I doing wrong here?

Hi,
I don't know what kind of e-mail you sent out but I hope that it wasn't one pushing or encouraging potential advertisers to purchase ads on your site. This may come across negatively on your part and actually decrease their interest. The e-mail should have made them aware of your site and that your customers would probably be valuable to them also.
As we all know, with the current state of the economy, businesses are not ready to just jump up and look for new growth. Companies are probably trying to maintain steady growth with their current consumers. Maybe you're doing everything right, except now just isn't the right time. If that's the case then there isn't much you can do. Most of us realise that getting advertisers for our sites isn't easy which is why we turn to the networks such as Flycast, Burst.
Stick with it and you might find you get responses. If not don't be discourage, maybe wait until the market is a little more receptive and work on building your own customer base.

I agree with Ravi. Just be patient and don't be too pushy with your ad sales. You seem to have everything setup right, just wait. Perhaps there isn't a big demand for advertising from advertisers in your market, you never know in this weak economy.
