Hi all,

I'm looking for ways i can promote my newsletter for free. I have 12000 subscribers now, after buying 8000 opt-in addresses. Anyways i'm looking for sites where i can advertise my newsletter for free, or places that'll help me increase my subscribers list.

If you know of any please post.

Thanks and best regards

Why dont you first tell us what genre the newsletter is about.

What you are currently doing to promote the newsletter.

How much interaction do you currently have from your subscribership

What level is your subscriberships technical ability concerning your newsletters substance.

These 4 basic questions will help us help you.

My newsletter is about Free Stuff ..
Like i said i bought 8000 opt-in addresses and the rest came from my site. That's what i've done so far to promote it.
I send my newsletter a few times a week usually, it's spontaneously.

The last question i don't really follow you.

Thanks,

What free stuff- Webmaster stuff, general free stuff (fonts/clipart/wallpaper), what??

Is it just an email based newsletter? Do you have a website to back it up?

You really need to get the site with the major search engines so that people find the site & then they can subscribe to the newsletter. Make sure you have a good meta description (check your spelling!) and make it something that will entice people to go to your site as this is what a lot of search engines will list in ther results page.

Traffic to my site is not my main problem now. I have a pretty good link popularity and some search engines give me good traffic. But i want ways of promoting my newsletter without connection to my site. My site is another way of generating subscribers but i'm looking for other ways.

Here's two things you can do:

1. Swap ads with other similar newsletters. There are tons of freebie newsletters, just approach another site and tell your subscriber base and ask if they want to trade.

2. Get listed in the various ezine directories. Here's some:

http://www.ezine-dir.com

i've advertised other sites' newsletters before in exchange for a link on their site and/or a link in the newsletter. this benefits both parties and cost zip.

Marc, Thanks for the helpful info, that's exactly what i was looking for. If you or anyone else know of more ezine lists like these, please post.

You might consider bids on paid search engines.
Although you said you'd prefer free advertising, I know people who have built up thousands of subscribers by targeted advertising at Goto.
The link in my sig might also be useful.
