Hi,

I have had success getting a certain level of traffic and visability to my site by writing articles and submitting them to free press release websites,

They obviosly all have a "paid" press release service that purports to increase the dispersion of articles/better placement/rss feeds etc.

Has anyone used a paid press release service and can give me an some examples from different sites about the reaction and if there was a noticable increase in traffic?

Cheers

I used to work for a real estate firm who prides itself in not using regular SEO methods to gain traffic online. They wouldn't try anything except submitting press releases. I'd say they also reached a good number of audience, internationally mostly, but press release alone is just one aspect of SEO. It's a good way to build reputation though, if you're doing really quality stuff and want people to know about it.

I've used press releases in the past, some of which have been picked up by some major news agents. The the first reply stated, the traffic boost was great for the first two - three days. After that it died off rather quick. That being said, the site in question was one of the firts forums I'd ever created and it paid off in the forum of alot of new members.

The Press Release site I used was http://www.prweb.com. There is a fee for the services, but if your topics are well thought out, well written and have good content then your sure to be picked up by a few agencies.

Press releases are a great way to let your public know about new product version releases, new service releases or any other important movements that your company wants to make a real public notice about.

Press releases are in the same time a great SEO and SEM tool that experts use wisely to improve the quality and value of a specific website in front of the search engine filters.

I don't think it's worth using press releases to promote site.
To get people's attention, you need a good contend press, which will take you many time to write.
And release it ,you maybe spend time and money too.
But you only can some traffic in short time.

Press releases are great ways to draw traffic to your site and a good source of backlinks that would help in PR building of your site. For better results, you should also a balanced marketing mix on paid and free marketing campaigns to get more traffic, especially targetted ones. PPC, targetted link backs, forum sigs, email marketing, social bookmarking, etc are some of the campaigns you should consider also Wink

I agree. I have been using them for a couple weeks now and the success is great. I certainly will continue it.
