Dear responder,

I signed on this forum because I've been having problems with my traffic and I will probably have more questions in the near future.

I am one of th representatives of sillyenglish.com Recently we organized the home page although it doesn't look nice it is much more oganized then before.

But now, we have lost half our traffic. I don't know why. I'm wondering if its the colors on the page or if its because we don't have enough sruff. I really don't know. So I was hoping that somebody could take a look at this page and tell me what is wrong and what needs to be changed

Thank you for listening,
Andrew

The look of the page wouldn't cause problems with traffic - they're not getting there in the first place so the looks wouldn't be the issue.

It could be that you have almost nothing on the front page for the SE's to spider. There's basically just an intro blurb - no headings, no text links, very little information. There needs to be something for the SE' to find.

It might be helpful to post a before and after look at your site. That way we'd be able to see exactly what you're doing differently. Also take a look at your traffic logs - where were your visitors coming from before? Is there a key source of traffic that is no longer driving traffic to your site?

well to only difference was that the home page (the one after you click the tongue) was very disorganized there was no order at all pictures were everywhere in the toolbars and just scattered around the page.

The url sillyenglish.com does not tell me much about the site to begin with and I would not be motivated to visit it to see what it's all about.

"doorway pages" - pages that are very simple and have the word Enter on them, you click throught hem to view the site.

these doorway pages are very very bad for the search engines as there's no content.

make http://www.sillyenglish.com/online/home.html (the page you go to after clicking the enter tounge thing) your index page and use your keywords more often on that page.

also target specific keywords like - silly english, silly jokes, silly english jokes, silly images. Your keywords should be a little more specific than those below to ensure a high ranking and they should also be used in your domain name is possible.

Never understood most enter pages, when you visit a URL, and the page just says "Enter" or something similar, isn't that the reason you visited the URL in the first place? To "Enter" the website?

OK, I may be able to understand the "Flash version or HTML version" or choosing which language to view the site in, but, apart from that, it's more or less useless.

Not sure if it's a glitch or what, but I clicked on the tongue and left after waiting about 15 seconds. Is something up?
