Hi,
I am not a top rated SEO but I have read everywhere that when we get backlinks from FFA's and some other sites it really hurts our Page Rank!
You all must have read all this everywhere. And we all believe it that it is true.

Now What I object is that what would happen if I start blasting away at FFA's with google.com
Will it affect its PR.
Okay don't take Google.com.
Take some other poor fellow who has 4 or 5 PR for his little dear website.

Now he does'nt knows and If I again start blasting his Ads in FFA's then what will happen? His PR will get hurt.

People use many words. Like gets hurt or dissolves etc. etc.

But I don't think so. Do as much as you like It is not going to hurt. And I think it is also not going to make any better as long as PR is concerned.

But if some lone visitor comes follwing that links then it is a bonus.

I am not misguidig anyone here. Just think it your own way and then let me know. Because if website's PR would get hurt by posting to FFA's then every competitor would do that thing to the other.

Yeah one more thing. Don't ever go to SEO's they promise you that they will get your site on top 10 or top 20

Say if there are 21 web designers who want their websites in top 20 for keyword 'web design' Do you think they will say no to the 21st customer???

They will promise all the 21 customers that their site will be in top 20 at google for 'web design' which is not logically possible. Even if they have that much power to bring websites on top.

1/ PR doesn't matter. And you posting a competitors site won't reduce the PR, there is no minus in the PR equation.

2/ FFAs linking to your site won't hurt. You linking to FFAs definitely will.

3/No, you don't get banned for too many backlinks.

Genuine SEOs won't promise you anything on ranking at all, Only the scammers pretend to guarantee rankings.

You seem to be labouring under several misconceptions and reading crap information by the sounds of it.

Free For All link pages. They are just pages with a zillion links on them, no categories or sorting.

I see the same information all over the place myself. But being a smart webmaster, I know not to listen to it. I have a lot of backlinks to my site, and I submit my site to FFA, I don't dare do it with my own email address though. Smiling But I do submit. I figure if I get one visitor a month from those sources, and they join my forums, then I have a potential long term user that's going to help my site grow, and that to me is perfect in my eyes.
