Among those Forum posting the best and easy way of promotion. Directory submission is waste no chance of getting listed in good dir and also if listed very poor chance to get BL from it.. Link exchange is not harm but alos 2 way links weight is little.

The best that work for me are article submission directory submission, social bookmarking, blog reviews, text link ads, press release submission, website templates etc.

yes..not all forum will allow to member who want show up link signature.
i have banned and they block my ip address too without reason like crish said to us.

Learn to create templates, like for Wordpress and Drupal, with your link in the template as the designer. Can get many back-links that way. And it's really not all that hard to do. You can also get links from the template sites themselves that you submit the templates to. And a few premium templates will make you some extra cash.

Is that over the course of a year, or more? How many posts do you make on average each week? That's an insane number of hours you would need to put in.

We have a character minimum set on the signatures, so they only show up on longer post. We were finding a lot of people posting short, unhelpful comments just to get a signature posted.

Yes, above all are very common way of link building.
You can also use theme related one way backlinks for more better response from SEs.

Not all social bookmarking sites give you the link juice however, blog review is a great idea and also, article submissions or forum posting. They are still very effective ways to get links today!

I've been using all types of back link tools. I utilize a ton of web directory submissions, social bookmark submissions and at least three or four article site submissions. It's really helped out for some site, and not as much for others. Sometimes it's a crap-shoot depending on content and such.

Right, social bookmarking can be very helpful, but do you submit your own pages frequently? I heard that you only want to self-promote when it's a really special occasion,that way other members will take you seriously. Or is that just something to scare people away from self-promotion?
