I just got a free script from webmasterdailytips.com . What it does is when a visitor comes to your site it'll set an automatic bookmark so when they look at their bookmarks they will see your site. This has increased my traffic and sales. Does this kind of thing really work ?
Just curious, I am new to this business

welcome to TWF
You'll find you'll loose visitors (and probably get hate mail) using scripts like that.
a better way to do it is just offer a link (that bookmarks it) or a friendly note reminding or asking them to bookmark it.

As busy said, in the end you will lose more visitors than gain them with something like this. Offer them the chance to bookmark, that way if they dont you wont get any emails questioning your parentage!

Oooh, never do anything without asking the visitor! That's just bad webmastership in my opinion. If you offer good content that's regularly updated they'll come back of their own accord.

I concur 100%. I have never, ever returned to a site that does that. It's just plain annoying, immature, dishonest, and amature-like.

It is the best way to annoy your users and make sure that never come back again (once they find out that you are using this trick).
