I set up some forums at my website http://www.hughesclan.com/cgi/YaBB/YaBB.cgi but I can't get anyone to talk. I get about 1000 hits to my site total a day, but I can't seem to get these forums going. Any suggestions? Anyone here want to become a mod or help start discussion topics? Thanks.

Well, you didn't make the mistake many do at first in adding two dozen forums that end up having 0 posts. Congratulations.
I think your forums need to be improved aesthetically. People need a reason to come to your forums, why you over your competitors? At the bare minimum, make your forums look attactive and you will spark people's interests. I suggest you ask for a Critique here at TWF in the appropriate forum. Good luck!

actually, i wanted to add the header to my forums that I use on the rest of my site, but I tried it and it looked horrible. I may redesign the site some time in the near future if I ever get some more time on my hands

You could also offer an incentive for people to post. Run a contest available to all posting members, give the winner some sort of prize.
You must post yourself. Also ask several of your friends to drop by and make some posts. Have them ask and answer a variety of posts.
The busier your forum looks, the busier it will become!
