Hello Members,

I plan to set-up a commuity site catering to a very posh locality of my city. It would be completely informative and offer continuous updates of latest events and happenings around the area.

I am aware of all the services and other apsects to be taken care of while servicing the online visitors. But there is only one thing I am confused and expecting people to provide me with leads, suggestions and..more. The various revenue models which could be implemented at a website like this, which does not have products to sell. Also the information here would also have to be given totally FREE OF COST. Because who would like to pay to read on the Internet. So what could be the Revenue Models implemented in this case.

Thank you for all the help and suggestions.

Have a nice DAY!

Making money from a free site is always tricky. No magic or anything special you can do.

Somethings you can try is sell ad space to local businesses and organizations who you think would benefit from the exposure on your site. You might also want to add a few affiliates but keep them related (as much as possible) to the subject matter of your site.

Good luck!

You can add a business directory where you will include all the businesses of the area and ask for a fee to place them in the first places.

You can also sell tickets from your site for the events and happenings you anounce. Contact those who organise them.

If your site becomes popular you will earn enough from advertising so you will not need to sell anything. But if you do, think of selling small products from your area, depending on your visitors' preferences.
