I am ready to purchase text links for my education-related site. I am having a terrible time finding relevant sites. Can anyone help me find a place to purchase education text links?
Is there an easier way to do this?

I just do a search for sites that are related to mine but that are not competeing with my site. From the search results you email the top ten and ask them how much a text link to your site will cost.

That is a great suggestion. What price range should I expect to pay? Is there anything I should be looking for other than a high PR?

Price: I can't give you an exact price but several factors include location of text link, the context it is in, PR of the page, and the amount of traffic that page gets.
If you can get a high PR link from a site that gets lots of traffic, that is what you want. Also, make sure that the link is not on the footer of everypage, that looks suspicious to Google.

BTW, if I understand correctly, they offer subscription links, i.e., you need to pay monthly fee. You can't just pay a fixed amount and get a link forever.
