Hi
I want to link my site to other site with high PR values. Some of the sites im linking to have a pr of 5 on their home page. But on their links page this drops to a PR of 2 or 1. Will Googlebot rate my link on their site with a PR of 1 (because it will be on their linkspage) or does Googlebot use their homepage ranking?
So when evaluating sites to link to, should I be looking for sites with high PR "links page" or does google use the overall site rating?

No, 1 is low. PR is 0-10, low to high.

I guess both PR values of home page and linkpage are evaluated but I do not have such research.
The home page has limited space. If you want to get more links, do not care too much on what page because
- You may use the same linkpage to link back (if link exchange).
- More links is better than no link.

I wouldn't read too much in to the google page rank toy. Just try to get other sites that are on the same theme as your own to link back to you. Your PR will go up once you've got other related sites linking to you.

BTW it also helps if your website has more than just the odd page.
I'm not sure how google ranks websites because it goes on more than just back links, but having lots of other sites linking to you will help even if your PR doesn't go up.
