I'm not sure what i'm really achieving with this thread but thought i'd point out Yahoo Search Marketing is useless! Not only does it create about a 10th of the traffic of Google AdWords, but the CPC is also more expensive, sometimes twice as much!

I understand people in the US use Yahoo more than they do here in the UK, but i'm starting to wonder how long Yahoo will last in this current financial climate where Google is not only dominate, but also provides a better service?

Wow, thanks for letting us know. Smiling

I thought Yahoo! had an advertising deal with Google these days. If that is the state of Yahoo! advertising, it's not surprising that they've signed this deal.

Depends on the market. Something competitive and technical may have click fraud involved, but most industries it is just over hyped by skeptics. Either way, AdWords has been our best advertising full stop, online or offline.

Thanks for the link Jeeves, i wonder how long until Google take over Yahoo? Although that will be interesting as there may be Microsoft style probes into them becoming a monopoly within the market place.

Pay per click (PPC) is an internet advertising model used on websites, where advertisers pay their host only when the ad is clicked. With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.

Pay per click allows advertisers the ability to control how much money they spend. Advertisers can choose the maximum amount they are willing to spend money on every click on each exercise and a daily basis. Your cost per click can be as low as five cents per click. Usually there is no minimum daily, so you can spend little or as much as you want.
