Need ideas in promoting Website
Hello,
I have a website at http://www.sharefiles.us and i need an ideas to promote it. I have already added it to google, msn and yahoo. Any other ideas?
If anyone wants, we can link exchange.

First thing, move that stat Counter to the footer of the page. SEO spider cannot see your title tag. And is producing a class A html error.
Also needs a Doctype, looks like HTML 4.01 transitional. This is very important.
Has no keywords, also mostly important.
Has no description, very important.
Has no robots tag, to tell the webbot how to catalog your pages, important.
Has some html errors but the former needs fixing first.
Also add quotation marks to the words "Share Files" in your title shows importance to the webbot.

I don't want to dishearten you, but SEO for most people results in a trickle of traffic which results in ...not much at all.
To get serious you need to think differently and get your message out to a lot of people.
Here three things that WORK!
1) Viral Marketing - invest in some software or ebooks which promote your site and distribute them via bittorrent. This technique is very under-utilised and worth doing.
2) Legal Opt in Bulk Email - send messages to millions of people who already exhbit buying behaviour in your field. ie you might have a technology site, so you send mail to people who wish to hear about technology products, your conversion rate is therefore very good.
3) Spam - ILLEGAL, ANNOYING and STUPID!!!. It works however..but honestly why why you do it when targeted optin and Legal alternatives also work.
I have been involved in the legal optin version of bulk marketing for a long time and I have seen many webmasters go from pathetic sales to 6 figure incomes.

- Start an email newsletter
- Start a paper newsletter
- Have a giveaway
- Place a newpaper ad
- Include your URL in your email and forums signature
- Write articles in your field of expertise
That's just a few of them I can remember offhand.

To start an email newsletter, you must already have a site that is popular enough to build a decent size opt-in email list unless you want to resort to spamming.

Actually, you can start an email newsletter with any number of users. Even just one! You can just grow the newsletter along with the site.
