Any tips anyone?
Don't laugh, but in the six weeks since I joined I made 4 cents... That's with almost 80,000 page views and more than 10,000 uniques. Does that make sense?
I am trying hard, checking my stats and trying new affiliations but the balance is what it is. I'm not saying it's a scam, but their forums are full of success stories of people making thousands of dollars a month and I'm making an average of 2.5 cents a month!
Anyone here making any money to speak of with CJ?

I'm also using CJ and have been for about 2 months and have only made $20 so far. I've tried using different merchants banners but only 2 banners seems to make me money, so i've decided to stick with them (for now).
As most people know nowadays it's very hard to get people to click banner ads.
I'd suggest to just keep changing merchants and using new banners and view the reports to see which banners are creating the most clicks or sales and use them.
For that $20 or so i've made i've only shown about 20k hits
Hope this helps a little.

Don't feel bad, anat. I am using them and haven't made squat! They seem so good, and everyone recommends them, but I haven't made but a few bucks off them.

Their forums are full of success stories. People tell about making thousands of dollars a month. Do you think they're all bogus posts by CJ people or what?

no, i think they're legit. some programs work well for me and some don't. however, i never seem to be able to maintain a good program, something always happens, rated lower, program goes defunct, and so on.

I've been thinking of signing up for them. Would it be bad for me to do so?

i suggest websitesponsors....i have made 18 dollars this month, and from 4 days from the previous month i made 6 dollars....
so 24 dollars in 28 days aint so bad...not great....but it will do considering my web hosting is only $10 a month...
there cpc is great, 17 cents a click......
try them, but dont expect sucess with un-loyal
visitors....
and anat another suggestion, why dont you try a cpm based program....i mean 80,000 visisors = $80 on amazing media....
anyway good luck to all in cj....

Well, I've actually changed to FastClick. The effective CPM is only 0.3$, but I want to try and get some targeted campaigns.

I have had a lot of success with cj.com in the past. I used them mostly for filler ads and text ads and brought in a couple hundred dollars a month from 100,000 page views.

CJ is one of the strongest affiliate programs that are available on the internet. You don't have to worry that CJ wouldn't pay you correctly or that their service wouldn't be legitimite in any way.
I have to say I'm wondered at the fact that your sites
don't make you guys a lot of revenue. I run a non-english site and CJ alone makes me more than 200 dollars a month ( with a page view amount of 10.000 a month )
Don't forget that CJ is not the only network that is available on the net. If you join multiple networks you will be able to choose from more offers and earn more money. Also don't forget to target your advertisements. Sites on software won't make any money on a free credit report or marriage counseling.
If you are interested in affiliate marketing and tips on how to make more money with your site, you can always contact me. I'm the head of a team that runs a resources site on affiliate marketing so maybe I can help you with your questions. You can also post them on our messageboard.

In the UK I use Tradedoubler and have used CJ too. I find that Tradedoubler are much better - definately worth looking into. I got a few cents too from CJ but a few hundred pounds with Tradedoubler...

You can make decent money from CJ (I make a few hundred dollars a month) but you need to select your programs with care and integrate them into your content. In other words, use text links and not banners - banners only get a click through of 2 or 3% (or less!), even when the content is closely related to your site.
You can even create a mini site (1 to 3 pages) based around a merchant program from CJ. The best programs for me have been pay per lead - Jackpot.com for example pays 80c per sign up. You can search just for pay per lead programs, using the CJ search engine. The biggest problem is merchants reducing their commission rates or dropping their programs altogether. For example, Jackpot.com used to pay $1 (now 80c); Gradfinder used to pay $1.50 (now only 25c!) - other merchants have dropped their lead fee and only pay per sale while some just end their affiliate program with no warning!
On the whole though, CJ is one of my favourite merchant networks - I prefer them to Linkshare and BeFree for example. CJ pay regularly every month and the combined check from all the merchants makes life much easier! Just running banners doesn't work though - I have run up to 50,000 banners for merchants and made no money at all. You need to think carefully about the merchants you choose (ie: go for quality AND a decent commissison) and then integrate the links (as text) into your content. Endorse the product or service and ensure that visitors arrive at the merchants site in a "ready to buy/ready to sign up" frame of mind!
Works for me anyway!

I receive a nice check every month from CJ but (don't laugh!), I use banners just for... estetical purposes!
I use text links and I build entry pages (example: http://www.dansquickshopping.com/311.htm ) that I promote separately.
I also get 2-tier commissions since CJ is listed in my affiliate program directory, but for the moment those are just peanuts: I only get 5% of referral's earnings, so I think that I need close to 1,000 sub-affiliates to make a decent buck out of... other people's work!

Long time no post.
I have tried a few and so far CJ has earned me $9 within 3 weeks
Not used that many ads as of yet either! Struggling to match adverts to content (which is poor)
I average around 10,000 page views per week and my sites theme is all over the place LOL
Target any ads with the theme of your site, if there is a banner ad and a text link ad, choose the text link ad.
People are more willing to click on a text link ad nowadays than a banner.
Also with most of the links, all the tracking can be 'hidden' from the visitors view, they see a normal link and off they go.
With text links you can incorporate them into a paragraph or content of some sort, again the visitor sees a link, likes what they have just read and off they go.
