Hey,
I was wondering, is it worth of to use the topsites for traffic increasing? I have ~30 unique visitors per day right now... If it can give me any good can anyone suggest a good toplist for website about webdesign?

a good topsites is worth it for some sites. the problem is finding one you fit well in.
the main things are to join a topsites that is targeted to your content and one that you can send enough traffic to so you'll have a decent ranking.

I've used top sites before, but I now know better and that they are more of a waste of time than anything. Generally, they are filled with casino and porn sites, something I don't want to be affiliated with. I feel there are better quality, more efficient ways to build traffic.

Are you listed on Yahoo! Last month Yahoo! sent us 428 first time unique visitors.
Your best bet would be to find the busiest portal site related to your web site theme and advertise there.
Some ways to work portal sites to publicize your web site:
1. Add url - directory listing
2. Classified ad section - add classified ad
3. Message boards - Signature file
4. Chat rooms - one on one consulting
5. Newsletter - sponsorship
6. Banner ads - HTML ones are the most effective
7. Submit your articles and plug your company at end of it.
8. Allow them to distribute a free copy of your software - demo time limited.
I've tried most of these techniques on high traffic web sites and they work very well at increasing visitor traffic. Note though if your web site is not "sticky" meaning visitors don't find anything worth hanging around for they most likely will never come back also.
We had 9,284 repeat visitors which accounted for 67.64% of our total traffic to our web site last month. So make sure your web site provides a lot of interesting web site theme related content.

Yes a topsite is a good way to go. It is even better to start your own as i have done. B4 this site i made an eminem site and joined eminem top sites. I was recieving 30-40 extra hits a day to my site. But u have to find a topsites that loads quickly and does not have loads of porn and rubbish on it.

I do recommend using a topsite, a good script is autorank pro. I used to own a topsite and with time it got good traffic which i used to pass to my other site. Buy the script, build a good topsite, promote it and it'll start building itself with time.
