I have been asking this question for years now. How to get a high click-thru ratio on the ads banner? where should I put it? shall I put it in the middle of the page? top of the page? or bottom?
My click-thru ratio is so low now
anyone? help?

That problem - priceless. You're one of tens of thousands. Many have that problem, especially if you're not an extremely targeted site with a loyal audience. What you can do is try things other than banner ads, particularly text ads. They are less annoying and produce higher CTRs.

Try to work it in to the overall lay out. People like ads that aren't in-your-face.

targeting is much more important than ad placement.
if u have a hunting (males) website and the banner ads are for lipstick (females) ur not going to get many clicks. however, if the banner ads are about guns or camo you'll probably get some clicks.

Yes, but advertisers like ads that get attention. That's why they advertise. So you need a common medium here that tries to accomplish as much of both.

Yes, but it's also your site. Nothing turns people off a site faster than to see nonsense ads in-thier-face right away.
If your site is about golf why are you trying to offer me a credit card? Or cook books? Or flowers? etc.
