So, for the heck of it, I run a search of my name on info.com. Much to my surprise, my own website is listed third. More surprising, though, is that two of my competitors are listed first and second. Now, I know they aren't mentioning my name on their sites, so why would their respective sites appear when doing a search for my name?

okay. your web site is simliar to the others. if you search for webmaster forums then there would be OTHER sites that are similiar to webmaster forums; this does not mean that the name 'webmaster forums' is being hijacked.

I think he means his actual name (christian name/surname).

You'll have to tell us what it is so that we can replicate the search to see if we can work it out.

I'm currently seeing your website listed as 1st and 2nd for a search on your name, which I found on your contact information page.

Would be interesting to do a search on the source code for the pages that rank (your competitors' pages) for your name and see if you find anything you have created there. I had to have our attorney contact many people over the years who were stupid enough to copy our html verbatim and not even try and see if our domain name or other proprietary items were in there. Needless to say a search for our domain name returned many of our competitor's pages...and for good reason. Our domain name was in their source code...and it matched code from our site. Imagine that.
