Yes, we need to have some more information. What is the site about? How are your SE rankings now? What have you done to improve SEO? What have you done to generate linkbacks?

Check out this topic for some ideas:

There are several says you can promote your website. I'll list a few examples right here:

1. Link Building-Searching google, please type in double " " the URL to your
competitor(s). This will let you know who is linking to them.

2. Run A Contest

3. Attend Charity Events- Donat a product or service to charity. The person or place holding the event will usually give you credit for making such donation.

4. Create simple to made business cards.

#1, setup a contest on your website- make it eye catching and stand out from the rest.

#2, submit your contest to contest directories and content related websites.

#3, visit forums and leave your contest in your signature.

I find Yahoo's linkdomain: command to be better than google's link: It shows more thorough listings, and it shows them in order of value (best links first). Although nofollows are included so you have to take that into account.

I think that Directory submissions and social bookmarking will help to get backlinks. Also, regular postings on forums with signatures will help you.

Also, don't spam but search for blogs relating to your site. Make intelligent and useful comments on the blogs and leave your site address next to your name. If your comment is a useful addition to a blog post the owner won't delete it.

OP it also depends on your niche. Depending on what your website is about there are many ways to promote your website, therefore it would be best if you post the url so we can make a review.

best,

Hi,

You can also try being creative on famous social sites (digg, flickr, etc). Increasing traffic to your website remains difficult and can be very expensive too ..

That is exactly why our company (shrugle) build a new search engine (database) for any frequently updated site. In a nutshell .. Sites get checked for updates at regular times and placed on top accordingly. Users then will value your site, based on actual time spent on your site. This way your site gets all the attention it deserves & all for free. It should allow webmasters to focus more on content, rather then to worry about how to get more traffic. We are about to go live, so don't expect the world yet. You can submit your site here if you are interested.

One of the best ways to improve your Web site marketing is to analyze the existing traffic to your Web site. Until you understand who is coming and why, it'll be difficult to improve. There four ways to analyze Web site traffic:

* Install a counter on your Web page
* Use your ISP's statistical package
* Purchase Web traffic analysis software
* Employ an outside firm to audit your Web traffic
In short, traffic analysis allows you to ask questions which help you fine-tune your Web marketing strategy. Web marketing without statistical analysis is like learning to drive blindfolded. At best, ineffective, at worst, dangerous.

Submit your site in directories, free ads, press releases, or just promote it using links from signatures. Laughing out loud

To increase the traffic in my website :
The first thing you should have a content that the user will have interest on.
If you have not, even the user come ,they will leave.
A good content I think,hot disscusion,good article,beatuy photoes or video.
If you have these ,then do some ads about you website.
Or make a high pagerank.
Then everything is ok.

I highly recommend reliable web hosting

That's a good point. We've been looking at some of our incoming search terms and are working on developing content to target them better. On some sites, we're not getting a lot of topical long tail searches, which means that something must be wrong with the way the site is set up. There are a lot of things you can find out from that. It helps a lot to have a better stats package installed so you can see more details.

I also highly recommend Yahoo's linkdomain: command. They sort links in order of importance (not precicely ranked, but roughly ordered), so you can see which of your links are getitng you the most "juice". Focus on getting more of those and less of the ones that appear at the bottom of the list.

just go to yahoo and type linkdomain:http://www.yoursite.com . This will take you into Yahoo site explorer. Click "inlinks" to see your incoming links. This works similar to Google's link: command but shows more (all?) of your links not just a selection like google does. Note that Yahoo does show nofollowed links.

You can also use this to check your competitors sites or sites that are ranking well for the keywords you want to see where they are getting their links from.

Traffic to your website can be increased in many ways. While working at my own websites I have figured out that it is very important to have fresh content in order to obtain better SERPs and attract natural people searching for popular keywords.

On the other hand you could consider a link building campaign or even a PPC campaign if you have the finances and expertise for one.
