Hello

I was wondering if I could get some help with some ideas in how to get out of the search engine sandbox? My website phase2studio.com a college humor magizine website has been around since mid summer of this year and We have done most of the major steps required to get our name out there:

- Submitted URL to major search engines/dirtories
- Have accounts on all major social networing sites (twitter, facebook, myspace, ect...)
- Starting to swap links with other sites
- Newsletter to be out soon

Am I missing any key steps, or is a wait and see kinda of a deal. btw each month there as been a 25 to 35% increase in visitors/page views is that standard?

Any help would be great, thanks

Erik

Nowadays, there is no need to submit your site to the search engines, the spiders will come to find you.
The most important thing is to keep on updating and also enhance the internal link building then look for some quality backlinks. Then soon you can come out of the box.

Yes I agree with you. Internal link building also plays a very significant role.

Continue to add fresh content on a regular basis. Also make sure that you have "deep linking" in your site where you interlink several pages. Apparently this helps with the spidering. It seems like you are doing everything right from your post above. I guess just keep on going and you will be out of the sandbox soon. good luck

Whatever you post here is right and it is essential to do deep linking and internal linking for your site in all ethical ways, with complete relevancy that will be helpful for a site to rank well.

There might be some negative links in your blog or company website or you have lots of outbound links in your homepage and all reciprocal link exchangers delete your website link from there website.
now a days search engine detect your website automatically and directory submission is most powerful and most worst solution for website. directory submission play leading role in off page optimization but if directory is not indexable, or have page rank 0 then it is good for nothing.
instead of huge quantity of back links from useless website try to submit manually in high pr directory 20 to 30 approved links per day is sufficient.

Sandbox period depends on the keyword competitiveness, if your keyword is more competitive then it will going to stay for long. Usually sandbox period considered as 3 months to one year. So keep updating your site for fast indexing.
