How to get high page rank?

Google Pagerank doesn't mean very much in the real world. Where your site comes on search results for your keywords is much more important in my opinion.

Here's some info though:
Good quality content that matches your site's topic(s) subject(s), and plenty of it. NO black hat techniques or tricks, as they find them all out in the end and you get penalised (or banned).
Good "QUALITY" links from other sites. Not just any old link will count, and really should be from a site/forum/blog with similar/relevant content to yours.

Basically put, a decent well maintained site with plenty of relevant and quality content and new content on a regular basis will get a decent pagerank.

Quality content + Quality links can improve your pr.. But imo SERP is better to rank on.. But if you can have it both, Why not..

For getting higher PR, you should focus on on page as well as off page optimization & especially focus on one way linking.

You may start with link and article submissions and do link exchanges. Try to get as many back links as you can and you will have good PR

Just focus on providing good, relevant and quality original content that is worth linking to. Once other sites see its value and links to it naturally, you get more PR juice.

There are books written on pr topic already. Quality links are key, but the difficult part is to stay top at all times.

To get High page rank you need some organic clicks on your site.And you have to distribute your website into more directories.You should get more quality back links using Dofollow .You need to concentrate SEO for your site.

TO get higher PR you need to have good no of baclinks from quality and relevant sites.Backlinks from relevant site is much worthier than backlinks from irrelevant sites.Backlinks can be done from social bookmarking, article submission, forum posting, press release submission,blog commmenting.

Thanks for the info. but what do you do when you have a site that seems to be constantly blocked at the same PR rating ? I have one site that has been PR0 for over a year and another site that moved up to PR3 pretty quick but has been stuck there for over a year now, it seems like nothing I do makes any difference.

You need to focused first on creating quality contents. If you have quality contents it can easily attract visitors and they will probably link to your site. You can do commenting on high PR blogs (much better to related sites) and subscribe to their feeds.

To get high PR? The most important for me is quality back link. That's mean your site have to having as many as back link from high PR site and if possible is relevant. Just concern about that. Beside, you also have to concern on your out bond link. Don't make your out bond link have larger number than in bound link. And, avoid duplicate content. That's my way to get higher PR.

those were really nice information. After reading all your comments, I am now cleared of how really Google based their decisions whether to increase a sites PR or not.. And seeing how important Exchange Links to a site as wells as with backlinking to good sites, and good content. And I know now that posting links to bad sites has effects on the site.

So far, if I haven't got the chance to read all of your comments, I think my suggestion would be, which I think is the most important to consider in gaining high PR for a site is by posting good content and at the same time keep it updated as often.. Fresh ideas is very much appreciated y Google..

I am running three sites, one has traffic rank below 100,000 and PR2, other has PR 4 and traffic rank above 8000,000. My experience is just try to get good PR back links if you want to get better PR, but more important is that just get good organic traffic.

PageRank is just an archaic number that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things in terms of providing any real benefit to your page. Sure, it's nice for the ego boost, but spending all your time getting shady links in order to get a slightly higher number on a toolbar while your traffic suffers seems like a waste of time to me.

As people have said, focus on creating something people will be actively searching for AND want to return to - there is no point getting only "one-off" traffic as your site visits will quickly die off.

There is no "short cut" to easy PageRank or traffic; make something that benefits people and they will come to your page in time.

now a days its not about ranking in certain keywords what matters a lot visitor check shopping website testimonial, Google trust rank, alexa rank, other customer reviews so we need to grow our business by having regular social networking, link baiting, high pr blog comments etc.

I don't bother about the PR, I'm more interested in ranking high on the SERP (Search Engine Result Page). Having a high PR doesn't automatically mean you have a good position on the SERP. PR is just one of the many factors which has influence on the SERP. But it's isn't the measurement model, seen enough low PR sites/pages outranking high PR sites/pages.

I guess you meant: `Any easy ideas?'. Yes the PR has little importance nowadays, but it is all equivalent: If you have a high PR you get more traffic than with a low PR. To be sure, we are talking here about the internal Google PR, not the PR of the Google toolbar, which is updated only twice or so every year.

stop worrying about it... PageRank is a long way to go!
Right now you should concentrate on getting traffic, i would suggest you to do bookmarking.

IMO,PR has very little to do with SEO and its better to concentrate on building quality links than worrying over PR
