I just removed the links from this post. As there's already another topic elsewhere on the forums where you've asked for link exchanges, and--with the links included--this post seems rather spammy.

I also popped your URL into your signature. Everything you post, over a certain length, will have your signature added. This is the easy way to get linkbacks, just post some more on the forums! Wink

Am not telling you off, so no need to worry. Also, you should be able to post in the Services and Special Offers Forum soon. Smiling

Here's an idea - ask any brides you're working with to include your link on their wedding website if they have one. There are more and more services popping up to help brides create simple websites. I saw one recently for my cousin's wedding. I think it's starting to become part of the process.

Our wedding photographer also created mini-websites for all his clients with a selection of photos. You might get some backlinks out of this because people may post it on their own sites or whatever. We didn't use the photographer's website because we have our own, so we arranged to get digital photos instead of prints and posted them on my website, with a nice link to the photographer's site.

If you want to get the good backlinks from many websites, you should get one way links from the leading wedding directories or photography directories who can offer you the permanent listing without renewal fee.

The more you can get one way links to your website, the great popularity your website wil get without sharing your link traffic to them by link exchange.

The professional web directories or leading websites with good results in search engines are great enough to help you build web traffic.

In addition, you may buy text link ads from the reliable text link brokers.

Look for directories and blogs that are related to weddings and photography, comment on the blogs and look for free or one off fee listings in the directory.

Also, when adding your site URL try using your keywords too. So instead of www.philinglephotography.co.uk have Wedding Photography.

This is done by adding HTML code.

I think that article submission has long period of time to bring decent results with links , but I think that is the best and most stable way to get good links.

I think there are two ways you can go with article submission - the quality way and the quantity way. The quantity way, which is what most people are talking about when they mention it, is when you write up an article and submit it to article distribution sites. The article may then get picked up by various other sites that need content to publish. It doesn't have to be a good qualilty article. In fact, you probably want to save your best stuff for your own site. The problem I see with this is that anyone who's needs to get content from article distrubtion sites probably doesn't have much link value to be passing on to you.

The quality way is to identify good quality sites in your niche and check their article submission policy. This would include any kind of site that publishes articles on your topic, including blogs that accept guest submissions. Either pitch them an idea or write up something really good and submit. Here you are submitting directly to the site you want to publish your article, not going through a middleman. You know that this is a good quality site that will attract some real traffic and a good quality linkback. You also know that your article will be published only once, and will therefore not be discounted as duplicate content.

For best results your content should be related to the topic of your site. So Phil here may want to write about photography techniques, or how to get the most out of your wedding photos, things like that.

What makes a "good" link? Is there any way to measure the degree of relevance of the site you want to have a link from?

Publish articles on your site and invite other sites to publish them on their sites, with a link to you.
