Hi ok I have some sites that are none selling and I also use adsense on these website, my questions are
How can you make adsense work really well on a website?
Where is the best place for adsense ads to go?
Is there any other ways apart from adsense that can be used that look ok like adsense?
And for my last question, is there any good way to make cash from a forum?
Sorry for all the questions, I have a lot of helps sites and don’t want to start charging to keep them going as I love to help people but I want to be able to keep them going and get something in return for hard work, I get really confused in how people that own websites like this forum earn a living or a good amount of cash from this.

Generally speaking, what kind of visitor hit counts would you need before you could even begin thinking of selling ad space?

Yer i sell text link ad space at $10 a month already but i have stoped selling more at what i have at the moment as my traffic is going bigger so i am waiting so i can chage a little more
I am thinking more along the line's of something that could increase with traffic if you know what i mean
Janet you can start selling it as soon as you put your website up, if the buyers think the page is got goot content for there ad's then they will buy

Really if you hope to get rich over night from a web site you need to take up knitting or something.
While you can make money off websites it wont happen over night and does require a lot of time and effect.
While forums like these are more for the love of it than to make money.
I wont use this site as example as it is now sponsored, my html site for example used adsence but the earnings cover the domain name and hosting and not much more, I don't mind as I have other sites that make me more dollars. the html site is there to help people and no more, like so many web sites out there. hosting is cheap so overheads are low.
To really make money you need a service or product, which means time

If you're a rebel you can put pop-ups ads on your site. I have one with pop-ups (it's an ethnic joke site) and I make enough to cover hosting, domain and a nice lunch once a month.
Adsense hasn't been very good to me. I only make $.10 a day from it. It is going to take forever to make the required $100 to get my money out.
Another thing you can do is (only if you have a loyal following) join an affiliate network and ask people to buy products through the affiliate link, just like on this forum with the Amazon link. If you have a good forum, people would do it to keep the forum running.

I'd use adsense and yahoo ads to start off with and eventually you should be able to move up into displaying your own ads for more money. also include things like a newsletter and everytime you get abother 300 subscribers (double opt in is best) increase your prices for the newsletter ads.

The best way to make money with any sort of site is to get really well targetted advetisements. This is the problem I had with google - they weren't targetting the way they could have been, and weren't bringing up quality sites. Of course visitors weren't going to click on them if they weren't going to be getting to quality sites. The people I know who do really well with adsense have to faff around with them a lot. Try different locations, try getting different keywords near them so they can target properly. It's a long process.
Selling direct advertising yourself is a good way to go because you can get advertisers you know your visitors will be interested in. If you have a small niche you could contact potential advertisers directly and explain how advertising on your site will benefit them.
The other good thing about direct advertising is that you get to keep 100% of the proceeds. There are several banner networks out there but the first problem is that they don't usually accept forums, and they also keep a significant portion of the money.
About text ads - you could look into some other networks. Google "sell text links" or something like that. I know there are a few big ones but I don't remember what they are called.
With a forum, or other good content site, you could also try premium memberships or a paypal "donate" button. If people like you enough they will voluntarily support you. I've done this myself on quite a few occasions. In any case, really, you have to have content that is valuable to people. If you don't have something that people want you won't be able to succeed in any case. More content = more traffic = more money.

Hi,
When you are searching for keywords for your site. Add those keywords as your adsense keywords to get traffic which are related to your site. Try finding related sites and related keywords from google search by looking into sponsered area of Listings. You add them to your adsense, there you go you will see adsense revenue keep growing normally.
Thanks for getting it
