Hopefully you'll be able to stomach this http://adserve.webtoolcafe.com/advertpro/servlet/view/banner/url/zone?zid=2&pid=0

On one of my sites I have popups on that was the popup. Do marketers seriously believe those can be effective? I think everyone who looks at that will either throw up all over the monitor or close it right away.

What do you think about those kind of ads?

AGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! MY EYES! MY EYES!

It's strange... but I've seen websites lose sales when the design was made more professional. The theory is that people associate rubbish design with homeliness and bargain prices - if you make the site expensive looking they assume that the product is expensive. I'm not really sure how it would apply for an advert like this but I agree with you... it's bloody awful! (if you think it looks bad try it in safari - it's a REAL mess!).

I have a blog post about that: http://www.meganjack.com/2006/10/03/the-bad-design-is-good-design-debate/

So I agree with Andy - they look at the cheap design and it gives it more creditbility if that makes any sense. But cases like this have just gone too far. People should understand that something like this is too good to be true but obviously it must be working or they wouldn't do it. Same with spam and infomercials and things like that.

I bet the target demographics for this ad are for people with short attention span or stoners.

I kid. Laughing out loud

I thought it was neat, listening to all those products' convoluted reference numbers.

Do people really go into a store and ask for a Samsung Y54GiX-P? If so, they are the ones who deserve a freebie.

I find sites like this absolutely appaling, but logically thinking, if they exist, they bring some revenue to the owners. Thу downloading speed of the page seems to be too slow, I've checked it's not working at all actually.
