You might want to try setting up some reciprocal linking partnerships, and getting your site listed in web hosting directories, etc.

Webhosting is a very difficult area to get listed in the Search Engines. We run a hosting site that while we make a good effort with, it doesnt bring as much as we would like - especially since this is what we enjoy the most.
Try things like smaller search engines, webhosting directories and even small newspaper and magazine ads. Don't rely on the web for everything.
Another good thing is finding a niche for your services. We added E-gold as a payment option and have seen our customer base go up just with that.

try approaching we hosting review sites for a review. if you have an affiliate program, they will no doubt review your business, and place a link to your site. I see a lot of these review sites do a lot of Adwords campaigns. Let them and benefit off the free traffic they send you.

I agree with Sarge299. Be sure you have Stormpay & Paypal as options. This helps.
But it is kinda like trying to run a convience store, where there are 45 on the same street right next door and half are marking up only a few cents per item and most are loosing money and willing to continue loosing money.

If I was in your business, and I am not I would look to be a value added hosting Company.
You must look to add value to the business other than the hosting service you provide even though that is your only interest you still need to reach your target market.
As an example provide a local directory of your business that you host. Then they see you as a benefit, and a go to Company for help in getting a web presence. "Value Added". If you don't have an in house expert then consider an alliance with a local directory service. You provide hosting the provide optimization for the businesses.
An other greta example is that many businesses do not realize they can get a free "yellowpages" listing for their business complete with the URL of the website, and email addresses. To take advantage of that they obviously need their business hosted.
You could have a small call center making calls to businesses making them aware of the free yellow page listing.. many small medium size Companies are not aware... or another step would be to hold an "open house" showing your services plus how you can help them.
If they don't know about your services they will not do business. You know you offer a good service now you must make them aware. Go to local trade shows and setup a small booth. "Chamber of Commerce".. ect, small business development centers and offer to give a talk to the new start ups..
