just a quick queston

should i use differnt text ads for my links exchanges as iam sure this will stop google etc classing me as spam

Whoah, hold on, link exchanges? Read this:

Basically, link exchanges are pretty much dead as far as good SEO goes. You might be able to work them a bit but most SE experts don't think they're all that useful anymore.

To get links, you have to have something people want to link to. Search for Social Media Marketing - that sort of thing might work for your site.

Link advertising is still rather effective, but not reciprocal links, or how can be explained the activity at link auctions?

Yeah, I wasn't sure what he meant. I have read some stuff recently on how effective small changes to text link ads can be but I forget where I saw that.

If you're just talking about the text within the links, I'd go for a no. 1 keywords phrase, ideally contained in about 50% of the links that link to you and a mix of about 5 > 10 others for the other 50%
