I was intresting in using goto.com and was wondering if any one has had success with it. Also I'm refering to the paying links, not the free links. For those who have paid for their links to be listed, can you please tell me how much you pay for each click, how much traffic you've received from it, and if the amount being paid to advertise on goto, will be made up, by banners and other forms of advertising on your site. IF you wouldn't mind sharing this information with me, it would be greatly appricated. Thanks!

I bought the minimum a while ago. Got some traffic but few sales. At this point I'm not going to renew when the money runs out.

I think you should make a distinction between how much the traffic from Goto costs and how much it would make you in terms of ads (I'm not talking about a site that actually sells a product).

I decided it's the best way for me to get some traffic before I make it into the top of the search engines (I am very optimistic by nature Laughing out loud).

I decided that I cannot afford to pay more than 1-2 cents per visitors so that's what I bid for all my related search terms (hundrerds of them). I know that for the more competitive keywords, I probably don't get any clicks (I'm probably no. 50 on the search results or something like that), but it doesn't matter because if there are no clicks - I don't pay.

I'm quite happy with the results actually I spent about a hundred dollars so far (in 2 months) and got the equivalent of visitors (about 7000-8000 unique visitors). I'm glad to see that most visitors like the site enough to come back again, so that for that 1 cent I hope to get quite a lot of page views in the long run. Obviously, to get that I will have to keep providing lots of good content.

As for making money of the ads - that a whole new story... I think you should have a look at some of the threads at the advertising forum (the one under "making money out of your site" and maybe start a new thread there if you like.

I have used Goto since the beginning of Dec when I starting promoting my site.

I have been averaging around $.016 CENTS that is 1.6 Cents per unique visitor. This is very little and since my average visitor ses 5 pages on my site I am very happy with it.

Goto is a great way for the new websites to gather some hits to start off. I will probaly continue using them for another month or so, until I have built up some decent traffic.

Since, I do not sell a product, but rather a free service for webmasters I do not really know my profit per visitor.

I am pretty much able to have as much traffic as I want from them. I currently receive around 250 uniques daily, but was receiving 1000 daily before I cut some of my keywords because I was spending to much money.

$100 will go fast, but will give you lots of visitors if you carefully choose around 300 keywords at no more than $.03 each.
