I've never spent a penny on advertising and my site gets over 15,000 impressions a week now. How about you share your experiences? I personally don't see the value in sites like Overture unless you are a large company with cash to spend or an eccomerce site. The payoff simply isn't great enough for content sites.
i've paid for ads (traffic) from a few sources (clicktrade, overture, google, and some others). however, i haven't found the magic touch (cost effecient traffic).
Traffic-Website.com free traffic, affiliate programs, hosting, & domain names. My Site got hacked, but i'm coming back?
Well, I get roughly 3 million page views a month, and honestly the best way seems to be CONTENT. If you have quality content, they will come! That's the simple truth. I don't think buying traffic really works, as more often than not, these people are misdirected to your site...

I disagree here. When you buy traffic, it is usually highly targeted as your ad only shows up on searches related to your site. That way, you will rarely get people looking for dating advice on a car site...
Try a free approach like [url deleted]. With a database of users that surf sites daily. You can ad your site to the rotation for free at no cost ever and no obligation to upgrade.
THEN and only then, if you like the traffic, you can just buy hits.
Content is basically your body text. Try, without overdoing it, to include your keywords in phrases and sentences as much as possible. You will then find that engines like Google love you long time!

Right - if you have good content it's much easier to get visitors.
Sean - with a site like yours you might want to try advertising locally. Get some business cards printed and hand them out to everyone you know. Get listed in local directories both online and off, things like that. There is *a lot* of competition in the web design business online so it might be easier to find potential visitors if you define a niche for yourself. Remember that 10 visits from people who may be interested in hiring you is better than 100 visits from people who wouldn't be.

Jeee, mjames... you should be a millionaire? Are you? How can I possible earn the half of your impressions with my site... crap like http://yesfree.host.sk ?
Any suggestions about getting 2-3k visitors daily to my site? Don't ask why.. I like to be seen..

A lot of the traffic comes from my content pages and message boards. Your site doesn't have any "beef" to it; just freebie links. People are likely visiting and leaving. It's hard to have a high page view to unique visitor rate when your site doesn't have a lot of things to offer.
Ahh, I should write crap on messages boards? I can't do this. First of all, my english is weak... very weak. Second, I am a newbie, people will only laugh at my posts. This idea won't work
Thanks for advice anyway
put up something people want and they will come to your site. My site dosent look that nice (designed by me with front page) and has been up for barely over 2 weeks with a tad bit of usenet promotion and i'm getting roughly 3000 unique visitors a day.
Get on as many search engines as possible. There is only so much you can do to up your ranking on sites like yahoo, so you will want to consider pay per click search engines. I suggest, overture, findwhat, ah-ha, and kanoodle. Look for really good deals on banners, Keyword targeted work really well. If you have some marketing money to spend, this isnt a bad way to go about it.

Content is the meaning, the text, the illustrations, the product, the information on a site. The guts of it. The reason it exists.

Mesage boards are good but are very time consuming. Plus you need a thick skin. Sooner or later someone is going to attack what you say.
