I am looking for a fun way to promote one of my websites. I am happy with the current traffic, but everyone wants just a little more right?

The site is Free Math Test.

I have read some posts about contests, giveaways, etc. I would like to do something like that for the users, but I am new to this and would like some suggestions.

If you were a teacher (or involved parent) what type of promotion would get you to tell your friends about my site?

Thanks for any help.

Well, I just happen to be an art teacher, so maybe I can help. The altamate gift for parents if their child won, let's say, a "math competition" or contest on your site would be a scholorship fund for their child (in an amount determined by you). This may not be realistic for you, so other ideas may be winning school supplies (free calculators, etc.). I think either one would do well.

I would love to be able to offer a scholorship, but I am not making enough money on the site for something like that. The school supplies sounds like a great idea.

I assume I should have the calculators branded with my website, right? I will do some research on the pricing for something like that.

Is a calculator enough for a teacher or parent to share this website with friends or co-workers?

Any other suggestions?

I would make it more of a prize pack with other school supplies included, not just a calculator. You can have pencils made (inexpensive) with your business on it, etc. Maybe even add to each pack (you could even use school bags instead of plastic bags), you have a ticket with a number on it, then have a drawing on the site later, and the matching ticket winner gets a special prize.

Those are great ideas! Have you done this before? It sounds like you have some experience in this.

What is a good way to choose the winner?

One way I was thinking of was asking each person that received a 100% on a test to put their contact information into a web form. I would randomly pick 5 of those people every week for x weeks.

Does that make sense? Is there a better way to do it?

I haven't done this before. My only experience is teaching kindergarten through 8th grade art.

The 100% on the test and submit the form idea is a good one. Good luck.
