Hi,
I just "bought" a new domain to try something new.

Since my own forum-soft isn't near "finished"-state I need some intermediate solution.

I don't want to pay 75$ for a solution that is used only for 3 month. (BT is well worth it, but I like homemade soft.).

The host I use/test (addr.com) has msql available so I can't use mySql (which I'm used to).

Is there any (perl-)software out there that has at least the basic ubb/bt/w3t-features and is FREE ???

WWWThreads (wwwthreads.com) is very good software. It has lots of features of UBB/BT (and some extra features they don't have. Smiling ) and it's FREE! However, it is designed for mySQL. It may work with mSQL, but as I have never used mSQL, I have no idea. Smiling

Hope this helps. Wink

Hi,

for now I decided to use (free) UBB. That will do for a while.
I'd like to switch to BT, but I don't won't a flat-file based board. They tend to blow up server load on high traffic.
Has BT a well structured backend, which I could replace with an mSql-version ??

with the greatest respect:

UBB is superior to BT:
Flat files decrease CPU load by multiples- They should not blow up:
WWthreads: has both and IMHO is superior
