This Forum which i am an admin for does not have many members ...now i know this has probably been talked about before but what is the best way to get posters? i try going to other forums and talking about it....not trying to spam but just easing my way in and get bad responses? if reciprical links from like sites are good for google then what is spam and what is good linkage?

This has been cussed, and re-discussed I don't know how many times. I have started a thread on the subject before, including I don't know how many others.
1. Submit to search engins.
2. Post on other boards leave your url in your signature ( dosen't work worth a D ).
3. Paid submission services ( would not waste my money ).
4. Submit to FFA pages ( gets you a lot of junk mail ).
5. Be satisfied and just wait.
6. Get Po, and just forget it.
There are a few directories, but your board does not qualify. They are elitist SB's, and will not accept boards not of their own kind, or free boards, or if you don't have 200,000 posts. ( who would need help ).
Some will tell you to put flyers in local super markets, or run an add in your paper. I have tried all this stuff believe me NOTHING works.

When I look for a forum to join I just go to a search engine and start searching. I suppose many people do the same.

A good place to get publicity is to submit a press release at http://www.prweb.com
Educate yourself on submitting a Press release before sending it. http://www.prweb.com/pressreleasetips.php
Submitting to to search engins and post on other boards leave your url in your signature some times works but them FFA sites are total garbage.
Your next best bet is to registar a domain name and point it to your forum and purchase a few 100 bumper stickers at http://www.stickerjunkie.com
