What is your opinion on the traffic-selling sites? For $50 they promise to get you 20,000 targeted hits. I can't find the link, but Im sure some of you know what I'm talking about.
Is it worth a try?

I think you need to ask them how they get the traffic, if it is through pop ups/unders then it is worthless, maybe if you want to get your name out then I guess it is ok. If it from expired domain traffic then it is better.

These places are legit, I have used http://www.Good-Traffic.com before, and it worked great for me. You can pick how many links you want, and it is crazy cheap, for like $20 I got 5,000 unique hits from fullpage popunders that display the site. It brought me a good bit of new users to my site.

Thanks for a great link, ATLien. I'm going to give them a try. How soon would they get me 10,000 untargeted hits?

Can you see where the traffic is coming from using their control panel, or do you just use your stat program to see that?

Just stats, due to legal issues, you can't see what sites your site is poping up on. They wont tell you either.

Legal issues? You have a right to know. Thats really strange, since they could just proxy the hits, which is done really easily.
