I just "won" my first ebay auction, buying 20,000 banner impressions on a shopping portal website (fits very well with my topic) for $20.00. I probably should have done more research, because I have no idea if that's a good price or not! It was the starting price, and no one else even put in a bid... (But even if it's not the best deal, $20 is not that big a deal to waste.)

So how much do banner impressions usually go for?

If my math is correct, you got a $1 CPM, which is very good. I don't think you would have been able to get this good of a deal somehwere else. I just hope that the website is honest with good content.

Sites usually sell impressions from $10-$20 CPM. $1 CPM very good!

Hope the site is really giving you that. Remember - impressinos don't matter, traffic does. If you get good traffic, then it is really worth it.

Be wary of scam sites. You should research the site's reputation first before you placed your winning bid. - Just my opinion anyway.

The site (shopping-sites.com) seems legit -- has a Yahoo directory listing -- and the seller has good feedback at ebay, so hopefully this will all work out well. If not, well like I said, I've wasted $20 plenty of times in my life on more useless things than this!

Now if only my host would get my site's server back up and running, been down most of the weekend... Sad

$20 isn't much to waste, I agree. Yet, maybe I misunderstood you, but just because a site is listed in Yahoo does not make it legit.

Of course, which is why I used the word seems! Wink

Kristen,
wondering whether her new "full member" status is due to a) post count over 50, b) being here three months, or c) some quirk in the conversion to the new BB software!

Ok...I could live with a "seems." Smiling

Three clicks on ~4,000 impressions so far. I'm not holding my breath...

On the upside, I got my first-ever AltaVista referrals this weekend Smiling -- two of them!
