Hello,

Bn.com seems to be rather strinct about having affiliates use their exact coding on our sites. It says so at their site. Has anyone edited the coding, added a class="link" or target="new" somewhere within the coding, did it affect your tracking? Did you still get your referral from online purchases?

Who do they use for their affiliate program? Commission Junction? LinkShare?

While I don't think it would cause a problem, I recommend against altering the code in *any* way, even if it doesn't affect your stats. ANY sort of modification is generally grounds for removal at any time.

They're with Affiliate.net, yet it's not like Linkshare or CJ in any way.

I have altered the code of goto and lycos's affiliate programs and it works fine, nobody went mad at me, as long as you don't alter it so your "rubbishing the company" who it links to (like all those fake aol ads that say stuff about how phaedophiles use aol etc...) then I don't think anyone should mind. What do you want to change?

Due to the layout of my site, I would take off the at the bottom, change target="_top" to target="new" and add a class="text" (some dhtml linking preferences) to the .

In all, I'm not doing any of that fake or illegal things that they wouldn't want at all at my site.

I'll email them and ask them, I'm convinced these changes won't affect anything, but just to be sure.

Thanks for the help,
Sabrina

They said altering the code won't affect the tracking because I specified what would ONLY be changed... ex: target="_top" to tagre="new", adding a class="text" in the coding.
