big problems with Look Smart

Hello...............

I have been using Look Smart for PPC. In November/December they made some changes in their system (I don't know exactly what, they were vague about it) that resulted in a "huge" traffic increase (triple) for me. The problem was it resulted in no additional business at all. My best estimate was they cost me $3,100 in useless clicks.

I attempted to get them to explain "why" but basically got a the run around. They said they reviewed the account in detail, that I had some "broad matches" which resulted in the volume, that they "fixed it" (what ever that means), and that I should increase my budget (I had turned it off in a panic), to test the improvement. They were completely unsympathetic to helping me test it without risking more money, and also to respond to my request to refund the bogus (my definition) clicks. So I raised the budget (dummy that I am), and promptly spent another $1,200 for nothing.

As a matter of fact I have never had a warm and fuzzy feeling about Look Smart, but I am willing to put my personal feelings aside, if I can get results for my company.

I have been after them to help me, but now they will not even return the courtesy of responding to my emails. I stopped the flow of blood, but am wondering:

(1) Have others had this experience?
(2) Am I just out of luck.........?.......... or does anyone have any suggestions? It would be nice if somewhere in that company, there was an individual who both cared and was professional at the same time.

Ugh...well, why would you go with LookSmart in the first place? I would have gone with Overture, and Google.

You should contact them and demand more clicks because of your bad experience. Make them credit their account. Truly, they didn't gave you what you paid for. You can probably file a lawsuit, if needed.

It was dumb, though, to spend that much with such an unpopular search engine. When compared to Overture or Google, LookSmart's nothing. I mean, Overture controls Yahoo!'s search performance, and I think maybe DogPile, while Google powers Google, Ask Jeeves, and Momma.com...and plenty of others.

I'll quack like a penguin, and sting like a flee.

Hi......

Yes but I should have asked that question before the horse got out of the barn....here I am so to speak..... it's rather obvious now what I should have done.

I was grasping at straws I guess.

Thanks............
