We're using phpAdsNew here and it's great. The interface takes a little getting used to (not the gratest in terms of usability) but it's really powerful and easy to use once you get used to it. This is generally an industry standard program.

Here's a good article that might be helpful:

Banner ads are becoming a relic of Internet advertising getting 0.01% click through!!! that's 1000 views for 1 click through roughly!!! Your better with text ads and targeted text ads like google adwords.

Our advertisers are getting an average of 0.34% click through so that's not necessarily true (and rates for forums would naturally be lower since we get more repeat visitors and more page views/visitor than other types of sites would. Even if people don't click it's good for branding). And Matt's correct in that phpAdsNew can handle a variety of ad formats - not just banners.

Just re-read the original post - or were you looking for programs that supply advertising like Burst! or Tribal Fusion??

I am pretty sure phpAdsNew allows you to use text links. It's a pretty powerful program. Like Megan said it takes a lot of time getting use to the interface.

phpAdsNew is a great tool to manage ads - banner or text.

Megan mentioned it rightly, the interface is not that great though.

fine if it works for you, but that could be improved by making the banners text only and havign it blend with the site and not at the top of the page.
