I was just wondering for those out there that have experience in affiliate marketing...
What is the ideal commission plan for you??
recurring commissions
Pay Per Lead
Pay Per Sale
Pay Per Click
and what is the expectation in regards to % of sale??
I think this would be a good conversation piece...

Before I start to promote a new product I'm checking the site and the competition. If you are going to make PPC campaigns check the adwords ads and amount of bids for the major keywords.
About the commissions ? I prefer getting paid for sale not for lead when the minimum commission should be higher than $15 for sale. If the product is good and your campaigns are OK (keywords, ads, bids) you should make 1 sale for every 100-120 clicks. So your bids should be not more than $0.10 , because you need to earn some money.
The calculation that worked for me was Commission/150(clicks)=bid (15/150=$0.10). Don't forget to check the conversions and CTR, if your CTR is very low check your keywords and bids, but be careful not to enter to a bidding war with your competitors (unless you have money to spend)
After few days you will see if the product is selling only than raise your bids
Good luck

if your stuck see my site below and it will give you some advice on successful affiliate building links below in signature, it depends on which road you go down... if you chose paid per sale then you need to set up an eshop really or if you choose paid per click then you need more of a directory website. thanks
