Could anyone guide me that how much important are “Backlinks” and could they increase the website page rank,
If it is true then could anyone tell me a about links/website where I can find the good “backlinks” for a furniture based website.

Backlinks play an important role in search engine algorythms. They bascially count a link back as a "vote" for your site. It shows that others think your site is good and demonstrate that by linking to you. PageRank is sort of a measure of the quality of your backlinks but it isn't always accurate or indicative of what will happen with actual search results. Most experts don't place much importance on it anymore. Once really good backlink would result in a lower PR but better actual rankings than a lot of poor quality links. What's a good quality site? Basically, a link from a site that already ranks well and is respected as an authority.
Backlinks aren't something you can just go "find" on the web. You have to work for them. You have to make your site worthy, first of all - you have to be something other site owners will want to link to. Why? Because you have an exceptional product, or good informative content, or something they want to tell others about.
