I am looking to set up an affiliate scheme on my website, but I can't find any reasonably priced software to help me. Does anyone know of any?
I need to be able to direct people to my website under their affiliates own link. Then when they make an order through my affiliate, both myself and the affiliate need notifying.
I will then pay the affilaite at the end of each month. Commissions are 35% on profit, but this varies per package sold (no flat rate price), so I really need a flexible system that allows me to add up commission and pay the affiliate myself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Jon Bell

Thanks for the link, but most of the programs were actual affiliate programs, I need the software to set up my own affiliate program.
Does anyone know specifically of any good affiliate software that I can use?

I am not clear how you could actually write a package to do what you want without integrating it tightly into your own ordering and tracking system. I am building the beginnings of an affiliate system now, and there seem to be way too many business issues (rules) to be able to plug in some generic software as you suggest. If you find anything you think is great, I would be interested in looking at it.
The most obvious issue is tying an affiliate key to the member or customer record. Prospects may visit from a referral link several times (or sveral different referral links) before they actually place an order. So you almost have to write a cookie and then test for the cookie at several points in your ordering/processing system.
Let us know what you find.

A year ago I did a bit of research for a colleague. He didn't go ahead with it after all, so I have no idea how these work in practice - but here they are for what it's worth
