This is something I found while surfing the web, looking for new ways to bring people to my site. I didn't write this myself, and in fact I haven't even been to this blog before. But some of the ideas seem like good ones, worthy of being shared, and I'm curious what people will think of them?

All great ideas in my opinion! I especially like trackbacks and outbound linking (not mentioend) as a way to get noticed. You could also join Technorati and network there too.

I doubt that this isn't your blog. This is your first post and you did not have anything else to say but put a link to a blog that you do not own

He didn't say he had written that, just be careful with reading other people's posts.

No, I suspected that too at first but that is a very well known blog and I very much doubt the author would need to come here to get more traffic.
The article does mention forums as a good way to promote your site. Could be that Fireweed wanted to follow that advice and start networking with other webmasters. That's what we're here for!

I was on a big advertising web site a few days ago, and that blog was one of the main listed sites, with a testimonial on the frontpage, so I don't think he needs a few extra links from here.
On topic though, thank you for the information, not all of them are relevant to my site, but there are some nice points that I'm not using at the moment but I will now.

Thanks for letting us know of the article, actually I think the advertising factor is still very powerful and that was present among the ones on that article.
You can still find so many top ranking websites using advertising methods, in many cases, tergetted advertising will be more helpful than even having top ten ranking.
