21 Million Visitors this month
I have a website that I setup about 3 months ago. I was on local TV twice because of it. I have been averaging 6 million visits a month, this month I just did 21 million almost 22 million. How can I make some more money with advertising companys. I am running fastclick.com ads but they are sorta lame and look spammy, im looking for legit looking ads.

I am looking for good methods to advertise a site that will be used only in a certain town. The site is used to buy and sell items locally, similiar to the classifieds and an auction online. Currently I have 279 users I was on the local ABC news for the site. However it hasnt picked up as fast as I hoped it would. I just started a contest to give away $50.00 to registered active users. This got me about 10 users in 24 hours. I am still hoping to get 50-100 users a day.

Your website gets 22million hits a month and your asking how to advertise it?
Please its 3 in the morning and all this laughing is hurting me.
If your website got 22 million hits a month the advertisers would be banging down your door with sledgehammers and pushing suitcases of money into your hand.
Seeing as thats more viewers than an advertisment in a prime time tv commersial.

Perhaps he's counting actual hits, not visitors... That would inflate the logs by quite a chunk. Although, I don't know, that would only inflate his count by 14x -- if TWF did that it would result in 50x the real visitors... Whoa. That's a lot of pieces being included.
Perhaps, aifam, you can let us know and prevent further speculation?

The website was featured on WOKR13 ABC, and RNEWS channel 9 in Rochester NY. The 21 million # was the number of impressions on my pages, not visitors sorry.

We had over 1000 auctions last month, we updated the servers so we were down for 2 days. Then someone posted a bunch of racist slur auctions, and porno for sale. I pulled them within an hour of the listing be listed but it killed us. I am working on some more public relation stuff to be released in June that should get us some airtime on TV and the radios again.

why do you only have like 220 auctions? Did you use any deceptive advertising companies? maybe mis leading links? pop-unders?
even with 1,000,000 hits you should have more than 200 auctions.
