Hello. I'm considering working for my current employer as a contractor mostly working from home. A lot of the work I do involves production and maintenance of the organisation's website.
This would involve design work (graphic and organisational/structural design), some basic coding, ensuring content is fresh, creation of some content each week, checking/testing, ensuring basic usability standards are met, monitoring and reporting on stats, marketing, SEO, administering a discussion forum, etc.. I know the website, the organisation and the type of work they're involved with inside out.
Can anyone in Australia provide some sort of an idea of what sort of hourly rate range I might be able to charge for this type of work? Also, if I was to do a site creation project rather than ongoing production and maintenance, would rates for this type of work be different?
Any clues would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunatly, we are unable to discuss prices.
Haveing a look at what people in your local area are charging usually helps

how much do you want to make annually?
include your health benefits, vacation, taxes, et cetera.
work out the wage from there. as an employee, you'll find you're making about 50% or less of a "contractor" wage, however the contractor has to cover all the other expenses themselves and it rather works out (except you won't have commuting expenses, but you will have COMPuting expenses as you'll have to supply your own software and connections, et cetera).
