Web Design Business contracts
I am about to start a web design company. I am wondering about the contracts that each customer must sign. Like a legal document stating what work is to be done, terms of service, and other legal docuemtns. I am wondering how all of these documents are signed if I don't intend on meeting face to face with the client. How are these documents taken care of online? Do webmasters fax this stuff or can I have a restricted area of my website where I make each customer agree to terms of service with a checkbox or enter their name in an input box? Please help. Thanks in advance.

To get the ball rolling on a project (ie, they just looked over the contract and agree), have them print it out, sign the contract on the last page and date/initial in the corner every page of the contract and fax back in one transmission the entire contract. Then they also need to send you the original copy (via regular mail, etc). If the original is not received in a reasonable amount of time (spelled out in the contract), the project is on hold till the original arrives.
Also, just my recommendations of dealing with lawsuits over contracts, unless you don't mind gambling with it, pay to have a lawyer either write up the contract or go over it. It is amazing what loopholes they can fin you may never think of.

I actually have them sign two versions and mail one back to me. I like for each of us to have original copies.
