Hello everybody, I want to have my own business on the web, like I find so many these days making good money online. I plan to set up an online store that will be dealing in sale of computer accessories and will later on expand my reach if I find some good profits in that. So, what are the important points to keep in mind while doing this? Waiting for your replies……

Don't let anyone tell you it's easy. It takes a lot of work to get a successful website up and running, especially selling computer parts. Computer parts is a pretty saturated market, and there isn't much room for start-ups. You will be directly competing with the large retails, like NewEgg and TigerDirect. I would recommend finding a product line that not many other people sell.

I would recommend using a ecommerce platform called Magento. It is very powerfull, from what I have seen and used it can do as much as other sites such as eBuyer (but within reason). Check it out though just put Magento in google.

Three of those forums have the same EXACT reply with a link as the one that was posted here (it is now unpublished).

Hey at least our forum was the first result for it... Check it out...

I don't agree with people having opinion that computer goods can't sell online as they don't have the 'feel' online.
While this is a potent factor for clothing material and like products, what computer goods are is a fact that they are branded and with detailed specifications.
Do people imply that in order to get the feel of a hard disk one has to first install it and then come to know about this ! I don't think so.

You hve to setup physcial things over there as well as human resources.
Apart from that, you have to setup a website and gather huge traffic to your website. That will bring you more sales. Smiling

That great to hear that you want to start an online business. Please keep following things in mind

1) Think well before starting, but when you have decided firmly, then never look back
2) First look at the target area of your products
3) How will you deliver you products to your customers
4) What payment method will you offer to your subscribers
5) After all the expenses, will your products be cost effective for users to buy them
