I’m a little confused about your question. Do you mean what type of credit card should you accept or what merchant service should you use?
You always want to take as many credit cards as possible. Any “good” service will come with Visa and MasterCard support and American Express, Discover, etc should be relatively easy to add on. They generally require that you fill out a separate application and agree to pay a slightly higher percentage for processing.
You may want to look at CCNow (www.ccnow.com) for processing. I know quite a few programmers who sell their pre-made products through them.
