Does anyone know what percentage of online shoppers have and use Paypal? Currently, I'm starting out a new site w/ a Paypal only form of payment and was curious to know what percentage of shopping use it.

Eventually I will get my own merchant account but not until I can get a steady flow of quality, targeted traffic.

I'd be interested to know this as well since I'm also sort of in the same boat.

I've been looking into paysystems as an option though and you might want to consider them. I've heard decent things about them. The startup cost is low and there are no monthly fees(besides the transaction fees ofcourse). I think I might sign up with them.

I'm not sure the percentage. There does seem to be a large amount of people are registered and use it. Th edraw back is that if someone isnt registered they may be turned off from using it, since its one more place to give their CC number to. I use it on my site as an option and also use a thirdparty billing company. A third party is a good alternative until you get busy enough to have your own merchant account.
