Hello!!!

I need to come up with some kind of shopping cart thing for a couple websites. One website is a Gospel Singing group's site and need a way to sell their CD's, T-shirts and anything else they might have (about 5 items total). On the other site, custom T-shirts, Jewelry and Music is being sold (close to 100 items).

I have no clue where to begin!!!...lol! Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should look to design a "shopping cart"? Both parties involved can process CC's so that is set up with their banks. I am totally lost when it comes to this!!! Confused  Confused

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If your just starting out I would suggest looking for a web host that supplies a quality shopping cart with some type of template customization or headers and footer capability. Most commercial hosting companies have e-commerce packages for around $20-40 a month that would be sufficient for your needs.

If you have coding experience a pre-made shopping cart in PHP, Perl, ASP etc may be an option. Some of the links below should help you out with this:

General Scripts and Other E-Com Stuff - onlineorders.net
PHP Programs - http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/
ASP Programs - aspin.com
Perl Programs - cgi-resources.com

Take some time to look through this forum. There are quite a few e-commerce related threads here. If you have any other questions please feel free to post.

Good luck!

The more you want to the cart to do/come with (i.e. templates, etc) the less customizing control you have.

While it may seem easy at first, at some point your clients will want something customized that you can't change. While that can happen ultimately with all carts, the more built-in features you start with the less customization you typically have.
